Tactical knives tend to be a bit oversized, although there are more and more models coming out that do can be carried without any trouble in every pocket. But what about a miniature tactical knife small enough to be lost inside a pocket but still sharp and handy enough to be used as an everyday tactical knife? Does something like that actually exist? Well, the answer is yes, since one small startup hailing from Frisco, US, managed to design a full-fledged tactical knife measuring just 8 cm with its blade pulled out. Meet the B-2 Bomber Nano Blade, world’s smallest tactical knife.
Even though it is so tiny it can be used as a toothpick, the knife features pretty sharp blade and extravagant design. The design was inspired by the B-2 Stealth Bomber, noticeable if you look at the name of the blade. While the company claims about B-2 inspiration, the B-2 Bomber Nano Blade looks more like something Batman would carry, but who cares because this micro pocket knife has lots of charm in its design.
The blade is split into two parts. You have the classic sharp edge along with a serrated teeth edge, perfect for cutting wood. The teeth edge is perforated allowing for a sharper cut and making materials to not stick while you cut them. The serrated part of the blade can also be used to scrape flint.
The B-2 Bomber Nano Blade is made out of 440C black stainless steel, making the knife “one of the strongest nano blades ever created by mankind,” according to the manufacturer. The steel used makes the blade extremely sharp, even after years of using it, while it keeps the knife protected from getting rusty since the steel used is extremely corrosion resistant.
The main selling point of the B-2 Bomber Nano Blade is its micro size. The knife measures at 80mm in length when opened, and just 48mm in length when closed. The knife is also 20mm wide and just 4mm thick. The weight is also extremely light, less than 1oz, making the B-2 Bomber Nano Blade a perfect everyday pocket knife that can do a lot and can stay hidden.
Since the knife is so tiny designers had to make sure it is very secure. Because of safety concerns, the B-2 Bomber Nano Blade is both locking and folding, with the lock being a lever instead of a push button lock. Also, the pocket knife features zero wiggle room. Once locked into place, the blade will not move a millimeter, it will stay perfectly in place for extra security.
Since the makers of the B-2 Bomber Nano Blade are extremely confident in their product’s durability and toughness, each B-2 Bomber Nano Blade comes with a lifetime warranty. You can pre-order the B-2 Bomber Nano Blade on IndieGoGo market for $99. Estimated shipment date is December 2017.
