After launching Vivomove, Garmin announced a new model of specialized collection of watches – Garmin Forerunner 735 XT. The watch features multi-sport tracking capabilities, built in heart rate sensor, and a variety of special profiles for jogging, swimming, cycling, skiing, paddle sports, a variety of weight loss activities, and even hiking. It comes with built-in GPS to track the location and to calculate the distance. The Strava Life Suffer Score app that shows how the heart rate on a special activity has been changing over time.
The watch will be available in four color options, black, grey, midnight blue and frost blue. The color touch screen with a diameter of 31.1 mm(1.22″) is integrated into the polymer case with a diameter of 44.5 mm(1.75″). The screen resolution is 215×180 pixels. It includes, WiFi, ANT+ and Bluetooth. It has a water resistance of 5 ATM (50m). The watch weighs only 40 grams(1.41 ounces).
The device works on a lithium-ion battery, a full charge of which is enough for 24 hours in UltraTrac mode and for 14 hours with GPS module and a heart rate sensor. When connected to smartphone, it shows call notifications, messages, calendar reminders and a music player. The batteries last for 11 days in a watch mode with included tracker of activity and heart rate sensor.
Forerunner 735XT has basic functions like showing time, calendar, stopwatch, timer and alarm clock. It also has a tracker of activities including tracking goals, motivators, pedometer, sleep monitoring and the amount of burned calories. The gadget has a wide variety of metrics for different kind of sports including, VO2 max, speed, distance, heart rate and rhythm. All metrics can be analyzed in more detail by synchronizing it with Garmin Connect services.
The watch costs from 400 to 600 USD depending on the availability of additional sensors and trackers.
