GM has announced to produce new electric bikes by the end of 2019. The company has already made and shared its design and sketches on the company’s website, however, it is silent about the specs or any other information. It is known that there will be two versions of e-bikes, one foldable and one still.  According to TechCrunch, the new e-bikes will be connected to the company’s OnStar service, subscription-based communications, in-vehicle security, and emergency services feature found in cars.

The car giant is currently looking for help to name the bikes. It is offering a $10,000 cash prize to the person who comes up with the winning brand name. Nine other entrants who come up with cool creative ideas but were not selected will receive a cash of $1,000. If you want to contribute your two cents you can do so at www.eBikeBrandChallenge.com before November 26, 2018. The winning submissions will be announced on January 31, 2019.

It has been announced that GM might be ending its long-lasting relationships with fuel and diesel. The company wants to go all electric until 2023.  While other brands have also made similar claims, GM still remains the biggest car manufacturer on the planet. GM sold about 10 million cars worldwide last year alone, ranging from pickups to SUVs to urban runabouts.

If you want to purchase an affordable e-bike today, there are several options. The e-bike prices range from $500 and up. Currently, the SwagCycle is the cheapest bike available on Amazon.
