Go Pro makes the best action cameras out there, the company’s single goal is to bring the best possible video recording experience, and they accomplish that in the form of the GoPro HERO6 Black, the company’s most advanced action camera to date.
As for the design, the HERO6 Black is very similar to the last year’s model. There’s the compact, soft-edged body, a large camera lens, and the small 2-inch display on the back. When you look at the two models there’s no denying the HERO6 Black is almost identical to the HERO5 Black, but the differences start to show up once you scratch below the surface.
Firstly, the new flagship model from GoPro is powered by the new GP1 chip, bringing two times the performance compared to HERO5. The new camera can record 4K ultra HD videos at 60 frames per second, a significant upgrade to HERO5’s 4K @ 30fps recording capabilities.
Users who love taking slow-motion clips can now use the new 1080@240fps recording option, which should allow for some breath-taking slow-motion clips. The HERO6 Black features improved video stabilization, offering unmatched, super smooth videos.
Other improvements include new features incorporated into the UI, with the screen now supporting touch zoom for quickly finding a perfect shot, and an updated controls for smoother recording and navigating through menus.
The new camera is waterproof to 10 meters without a housing, but if you want to make some serious underwater shots, there’s an option to get housing with increased waterproof capabilities. Last but not least, the new model supports three times faster speeds when it comes to sending photos and videos to your smartphone. You can get the GoPro HERO6 Black on Amazon for $499.
