At the end of this week, the Austrian brand Carinthia has released a new hybrid soft shell jacket with a commercial name KSK Softshell Jacket. The new jacket is based on previous model Jacket G-Loft ISG with insulation. The jacket puts the main emphasis on mobility and tactical usage, rather than being a warm jacket for harsh weather conditions. However, you can wear the jacket with the special insulated coats that protect you from cold. There are the slick jackets which you can purchase from the same brand.
KSK Softshell Jacket stands out with its hybrid design, combining the three-layer membrane material Gore Windstopper (outer polyester fabric with water-repellent treatment, the polymer membrane and the vapor-permeable polyamide lining Shelltex Ultra) with thermal insulation “package” on the back of a hydrophobic synthetic insulation G -Loft SI. The declared insulation density of not less than 40 grams per square meter. In addition, the shoulder area is further reinforced by Kevlar material Keprotec.
The jacket is designed for usage in temperatures no lower than + 5 ° C degrees. It provides a hood with two-zone regulation and high collar, understated warmed back, shaped sleeves with elastic cuffs, through vents on the sides, the central fastener on the protective YKK zippers with two-sided locks and the bottom edge with adjustable volume. The pockets are arranged on the sleeves, on the front and inside.
Currently Carinthia KSK Softshell Jacket is available in only one version of an olive color and five sizes (S-XXL) to choose from. The suggested retail price of new items at least 264 euros. KSK Softshell Jacket comes in a compression cover: 14 x 25 cm, the average weight of the jacket – 750 grams.
