Each year, starting from 2010, the Swiss brand Victorinox Swiss Army produces a limited collection model of a knife or multi-tool, which is usually based on popular products already on the market. This year, the turn came to the very traditional Outrider model. This week the company is giving out a limited version of the Victorinox Outrider Damast model. The model has limited 5,000 copies. It’s worth reminding that last year’s Damascus Pioneer X opener, was sold out in 120 hours.
The Victorinox Outrider Damast folding multitool can be entirely used outdoors in the same way as the base Outrider model. It differs from the basic model both in design and in the number of available functions. The main blade is made of Damascus stainless steel, using the 1.4021 corrosion-resistant steel grade. The covers are made of completely black reinforced polyamide.
As for the functionality, the multi-tool contains fewer tools compared to the basic version. For unexplained reasons, designers have excluded wood saw, a corkscrew, a tweezer and a toothpick. The rest of the set and configuration of tools is identical. The multi-tool includes a knife, scissors, a bottle opener, a can opener, a braid for removing braids, an awl, a key ring or a knitting card, as well as screwdrivers for a cross and vertical slots.
The Victorinox Outrider Damast collector will be sold in the original gift wrapping and is estimated at $ 400. The sales should start on April 10, 2017.
