This week, we’ve seen lots of new watch announcements including Garmin Fenix 5 and Casio. Yesterday, another watch brand -Suunto has officially announced its first multisport watch with an integrated heart sensor. The model has received the commercial name – Spartan Sport Wrist HR. It will be a part of the rapidly developing Spartan multisport collection, launched in 2016. The collection already includes three models and replaces the popular Suunto Ambit series.
Besides the integrated heart rate sensor (PerformTek), model Spartan Sport Wrist HR almost entirely repeats last year’s model Spartan Sport both by design and functionality. The body of the new the watch is made of polyamide reinforced with the addition of stainless steel bezel and silicone strap. Colored display is protected by mineral glass. The watch provides the water resistance up to 100 meters.
Whether the presence of the heart rate sensor will affect the length of the device is still unknown. The base model Spartan Sport, according to the manufacturer, is able to work up to 10 hours in a full charge with enabled GPS mode with the maximum data exchange rate. The device works for 10 days in a normal watch mode without use of GPS sensor, and activity trackers. In the average use of watch with requests intensity not more than once per minute, the device lasts for 16 hours.
More detailed information about Suunto Spartan Sport Wrist HR should appear in the coming weeks. At the moment, we know that the watch will be available in three color options (Black, Blue, Sakura) and will cost 600 euros.
