While the Phones are Getting Bigger, Palm Presents the Smartphone with the Tiny Screen

While companies like Apple, Samsung, LG, and Huawei are arguing whether the phone screen should be foldable and whether we should have bigger screens in phones, the Palm takes a step back and introduces the smartphone with a small screen. How small is it? Well, it perfectly fits the palm of your hands. You can barely hold it.

Don’t be happy yet. You can’t just go and buy the phone on your own even if that looks fancy to you. It costs $349.99 and it can be bought only in one of the Verizon plans.

Other than that, the Palm is an ordinary smartphone that runs on Android 8.1. It has the same features as your classic Samsung phone might have. You can take photos, write emails, run apps, play games, etc… However, there are some classic caveats. There are fewer buttons as you would expect from the phone. The on and off button sometimes can be used to unlock the screen and to activate google’s voice search. There is one button on the phone that serves as two buttons depending on how many times you press it.

If having this phone sounds weird to you, you are not alone. According to Palm, you do need the second extra phone which you can take outside for weekends. There are times when you don’t want to be completely away from the digital world, but you might need to take a break from your phone. I know this sounds crazy, but the company claims it has produced something in between the smartwatches and phones.

The device features 800-mAh battery, the IP68 standard of water resistance, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of cumulative memory and a Snapdragon 435 processor. The fully charged batteries should last for one day.

You can purchase the phone from November 2018 in one of the Verizon stores.
